The Mining Project is situated near Brisson Lake, Nunavik, 235 km north-east of Schefferville, 325 km south of Kuujjuaq, 285 km south-east of Kangiqsualujjuaq and 237 km north-east of Kawawachikamach

The Strange Lake alkaline complex occupies a total area of 3,600 ha, whereas Lake Brisson occupies a total surface area of 3,200 ha. Lake Brisson flows into Napeu Kainut Lake, and then into the Déat River. The primary hydrographic basin is that of the George River, which is located about 100 km downstream of the mine site considering the waterflow (the George River is approximately 30 kms due East of the mine site). The project site is located on category III Land.

The project mainly includes an open pit, a tailings management facility, a low-grade ore pile, a waste rock pile, a collection basin, an industrial area housing the ore mill and the camp, an airstrip and a landfill. The proponent also plans to develop a 160 km access road linking the mine to port facilities on the east coast of Labrador. An 18 km section of this road will be located in Quebec.
During the 30-year operation phase, between 160 and 200 million tonnes of ore will be extracted from the open pit, or an average of 5.7 to 6.7 million tonnes per year. Between 125,000 to 300,000 tonnes per year of rare earth concentrate will then be produced by on-site beneficiation plant with a processing capacity of 16,000 to 20,000 tonnes of crushed ore per day.
