The Kativik Environmental Quality Commission (KEQC) is responsible for implementing the environmental and social impact assessment and review procedure with respect to matters and development projects under provincial jurisdiction in Nunavik, the region north of the 55th parallel. Thirty years of the KEQC activities are summarized in our 1979 – 2009 report which you can access in the language of your choice by pressing the heading below.

The KEQC is currently in public consultation period for the project 2A for iron deposit mining at Goodwood and Sunny 1 by Tata Steel Minerals Canada Ltd.
