Description

Les Énergies inc. Tarquti (hereinafter Tarquti) plans to build and operate 3 wind turbines, for a total capacity of 9 MW, on the territory of the northern village of Puvirnituq. The chosen site is located about 4 kilometers west of the northern village, along a road that serves several industrial infrastructures, including a new thermal power plant by Hydro-Québec, a landfill in a northern environment, an operating quarry, as well as a future gravel pit.
Carried out in collaboration with the Puvirnituq Cooperative, this project will be fully owned by the Inuit community. It aims to generate significant economic benefits for the local population, notably through the income from wind energy production and by hiring community members for the construction and operation phases, thus creating sustainable economic and social opportunities.
