Decision pdf 164 KBDescription
The proponent wishes to install and operate a thermophilic composter. The site was chosen near the road for electrical hookup and is located outside the limits of the northern village. The work involves building a gravel platform and a 9-m2 concrete surface for receiving the organic waste. The total surface area of the site is 900 m2.
The composting site’s facilities will be powered by the northern village’s power grid. The equipment required to operate the facilities will be installed inside suitable containers.
The compost will spend between 12 and 14 days in the composter before being poured into bags, where it will mature for two to four months. Once mature, the compost can be used in borrow pit rehabilitation, invert and roadside revegetation, as a covering material in northern landfills or, if the analysis criteria are met, in northern agriculture.
