The secretariat

In order to respect the spirit of the JBNQA, the KEQC secretariat is headquartered in Kuujjuaq in Nunavik. However, the Secretariat was in Quebec city from 1996 to 2006, when the post of Executive Secretary was assured by acting. The secretariat has been relocated in Kuujjuaq in early 2007 and the Executive Secretary now shares her expertise with the Renewable Resources Department of the Kativik Regional Government, working half time for each organization. The secretariat functions are to keep up to date records of the KEQC (correspondence, budget, website, register of the decisions, documents distribution to members), to assist members in achieving their mandate (monitoring and analyzing projects) and to be a mediator and an interlocutor between members and between the KEQC and the various stakeholders. The executive secretary is also responsible for organizing the meetings of the KEQC and has to convene the meetings, do the flight and hotel reservations for the members appointed by KRG and prepare the agendas and the minutes of the meetings.
